Margaret Burns Carpenter, 80, of 516th St., died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at York Church of God, with the Revs. Jason Garner, Dennis Ayers and Lee Ayers officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Margaret was a daughter of the late Henry and Blanche Montgomery Ramsey and the widow of W. D. Burns and Henry Carpenter. She was a member of York Church of God and was retired from Cannon Mills. She worked in the cafeteria at Cotton Belt Elementary School and for Mona and Moms Cleaning Service.
She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Belcher (Pete), Jennifer Ayers (Dennis) and Denise Burns, all of York, S.C.; a son, Dexter Burns (Lynn) of York, S.C.; two brothers, Frank Ramsey and Carl Ramsey, both of York, S.C.; sister Thelma R. Sipe of York, S.C.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three dogs, Maggie, Misty and Oscar.
