Ellen M. Sconzert, 85, Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Green Bay, passed away on Jan. 7, 2012. Ellen was born on Nov. 24, 1926, in Manitowoc Wis., to the late Joseph and Lillian (Kolacek) Holly.
She was a graduate of Holy Family Nursing School in 1948 and she was employed as a Registered Nurse in the Kewaunee and Green Bay areas for many years. On Dec. 27, 1947, she married Hilary Sconzert at Holy Innocence Catholic Church in Manitowoc, and he preceded her in death.
She enjoyed time with her family and her dog, Shadow, most of all. Ellen loved baking, crocheting and sewing. She also enjoyed traveling, doing crosswords, gardening, bird watching and singing in her church choir.
She will be sadly missed by her children, David (Nancy) Sconzert, Woodruff; Holly Gronseth, Green Bay; Karen Richards, New Berlin; Jan (Lee) Bouchonville, Green Bay; Steve Sconzert, Dallas; Diane (Rob) Tegtmeier, Cedarburg; son-in-law, Paul DeGroot, Garland Texas; 14 grandchildren, Aaron (Sara) Sconzert, Sharon (Tom) Grego, Luke Gronseth, Anthony Gronseth, Emily Gronseth, Joshua (Tiffani) DeGroot, Keith Richards, Corey Richards, Megan Sconzert, Mallory Sconzert, Tyler Tegtmeier, Trevor Tegtmeier, Owen Tegtmeier; four great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Paul (Betty) Holly, Donald Holly, Dorothy (Bob) Krause, Eugene (Evelyn) Holly; as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Beverly DeGroot; grandson, Matthew Gronseth; and son-in-law, Lee Gronseth.
Friends may call at Lyndahl Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Interment at Allouez Catholic Chapel and Mausoleum.
