Mrs. Martha Tarter, 86, of the Naomi community, died Monday at her home after several months illness.
The daughter of Anderson and Mary Halcomb she was born January 4, 1879 in Wayne County. She was married to Caleb Tarter in Wayne County. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Tarter was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include the following children, Sadie Tarter Burton, Naomi; Tella Jones, Naomi; Olga Buchanan, Nancy; Oda Tarter and Verl Tarter, both of Naomi, and Alma Floyd, West Somerset.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Shelton officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery at Naomi.
