She was the eldest daughter of John A. and Eliza Rich Holley of Slaterville, Utah. She was born on June 5, 1920. At the time of her death, she was 79 years of age. She married Max C. Elliott on January 12, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She graduated from Weber High School and Stevens Henegar Business College. She served an LDS mission to the Central States Mission. She served in various organizations in the LDS Church, such as Relief Society, Primary, MIA, Sunday School and was BYU Stake Relief Society President.
She worked at BYU for 10 years, from 1966-1976. She served with foreign students relations at BYU. She was devoted to serving her community. She was president of the Women's Division of the Chamber of Commerce. She served on The Urban Forestry Board (Beautification Committee). She received The Golden Deeds Award from the Provo Exchange Club with her husband. She received an award for service with the BYU Centennial. She worked with the Community Concert Program of Utah County. She was a recipient of the Abraham O Smoot Award for outstanding citizen along with her husband. She loved serving in many charitable organizations. She enjoyed belonging to the BYU Women Organization. She was a dedicated member of the Golden Kiwanis and enjoyed her relationship with these wonderful friends. She loved her friends in the Cleofon group like sisters.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Sue Ann (Richard) Call of American Fork, Jeri Lea Elliott of Orem; and foster daughter, Linda (Austin) Staheli of Big Canoe, GA. She has seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers. Fern(Albert) Wimmer, Ogden, UT; Rita (Fred) Amon, Ft. Worth, TX; Melba (George) Whalen, Roy, UT; Colleen Moran, Roy, UT; Rich Holley, Ogden, UT; Ray Holley, Ogden, UT; Carl (Sherry) Holley, Roy, UT; and Lee Holley, Ft. Worth, TX.
She was preceded in death by her son, parents and two sisters.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the North Park 1st Ward Chapel, 101 West 800 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the ward chapel from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
Norma requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the BYU Cancer Research Department and the Huntsman Research Center.
