Mrs. Christ, a native of Salisbury, N.C., had operated Excel Market for 50 years. She was the widow of Michael Christ and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Norfolk.
She was a former charter member of the Landsdale Garden Club and a former member of Ladies Sodality of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Marian C. Calcagni and Anne C. Calcagni, both of Norfolk; three sisters, Elizabeth Pipes of Lemon Grove, Calif., Rose Blackstone of Clearwater, Fla., and Antoinette Leidel of Chesapeake; two brothers, Carl W. Meixel of Portsmouth and Walter J. Meixel of Grandy, N.C.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Christ the King Catholic Church by Father Joseph Lehman. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, at 7 p.m. today.
Memorial donations may be made to the building fund of Christ the King Catholic Church.
