Roy O. Sohn, age 79, of 3605 Sheridan Ave., Sheboygan, and formerly of
Howards Grove, died Thursday, August 5, 1993, at Heritage Nursing Home,
Sheboygan, where he had been a resident the last two weeks.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 9, 1993, at St. James
United Church of Christ, Spring Valley, at 1 p.m. The Rev. William Kesting will
officiate with interment in the church cemetery.
He was born February 17, 1914, in the Town of Centerville, Manitowoc
County, son of the late Julius and Ida Bebermeier Sohn. Mildred Snitker and Roy Sohn were united in marriage December 14, 1939, in Waukon, Iowa. Roy and Mildred farmed in Spring Valley over 27 years, retiring in 1972, then moving to Howards Grove. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding in 1989. Roy was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; one son, Kenneth (Barbara) Sohn,
Sheboygan; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (June) Gutschow, Kiel, Mrs. James (Dianne) Koenig, Howards Grove, Mrs. Edward (Jeanette) Johnson, Cleveland; 15
grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one future great grandson; one brother, Lincoln (Marion) Sohn, Kiel. He was preceded in death by one son, one great grandson, two sisters and one brother.
Friends may call at the Zimmer Funeral Home, Howards Grove, on Sunday
from 4-9 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
A memorial fund has been established to St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley, in the name of Roy O. Sohn.
