Baxter Bernist Rountree of 4150 Lions Place, Apt. C4, died Thursday. He was a 72-year-old retired Robins Air Force Base employee.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Snow's Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dan Dockery will officiate.

A Wheeler County native, Mr. Rountree was educated in Wheeler and Toombs Counties. He lived in Macon for the past 33 years and was a member of Napier Avenue Church of God.

Mr. Rountree, a World War II Army veteran, received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with one bronze arrowhead and three bronze stars, the American Defense Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.

Survivors include his wife, Lila Mae Rountree of Macon; two sons, Bruce Rountree of Lawrenceville and Wendell Webb of Waynesboro, Va.; four sisters, Annie Galbreath and Eva Belle Morris, both of Vidalia, Geneva Harris of Tamarac, Fla., and Ila Farmer of Lyons; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Audrey Zurn, 225 Southview Ave., Warner Robins.
