Mr. John H. Salm, 65, of 422 Brooklyn St., Chilton, passed away on March 30, 1988 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton.
He was born on April 5, 1922 in Chilton, son of the late Martin L. and Eva (Birkholz) Salm.
On July 13, 1944, he was married to Lucille Luniak at Little Chute. They farmed in the town of Chilton until he retired in 1977 when he stated working at New Hope Center Rainbow Gardens greenhouse in Chilton until October 1987.
Mr. Salm was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Chilton and its Holy Name Society; the Catholic Knights, fourth degree Knights of Columbus and Chilton Senior Citizens.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille; a daughter Janice Salm of Arizona; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Susan Salm of Princeton and James and Patricia of New York; seven grandchildren. Other survivors are seven sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Halbach, Mrs. Margaret Reinl and Mrs. Theresa Weed, all of Chilton; Sister Bernadette Salm of Illinois, Mrs. Barbara Wood, of Minnesota, Mrs. Frances Manning, of Oregon, Mrs. Mary Bartels, of Racine; six brothers, Martin Jr., of Brillion; William of Ohio; Ray of Fond du Lac; Edgar of Valders; Lawrence of Mass.; Louis of Florida.
A brother preceded him in death
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Chilton, the Rev. Paul Brick celebrant. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
