Bob married the love of his life, Elizabeth Narcis “Lizzie” Whidby, on April 18, 1909 in Williamson County. Bob worked for Louisville and Nashville Railroad (L&N) as a switchman. After retiring from the railroad, Bob worked in the shop for Nashville-Franklin Interurban Railway. He enjoyed sharing stories with everyone.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by sisters, Calie Donie Bissell, Ollie Mai Hartley, Pricilla Gertrude Castleman and Mary Bessie Anderson; and brothers, Alexander Anderson, Timothy Anderson, John Stansfield Anderson, Thomas Steven Anderson, and Willie C. Anderson.
Survived by four daughters, Ethel (James Harold) Stinson of Nashville, Mrs. Barney (Obera) Carroll of Nashville, Mrs. James (Alene) Carroll of Franklin, Mrs. James (Irene ) Bowsher of Columbus, OH; six sons, Everett Herman (Rubye Irene) Anderson of Franklin, Buford Lee Anderson of Franklin, Robert Lee Jr. (Eulala) Anderson of Brentwood, Fred Austin (Julia Azalene) Anderson of Brentwood, Howard Milton (Helen Louise) Anderson of Franklin, Roy Clifford (Betty Jean) Anderson of Nashville; one foster son, Fred T. Anderson of Nashville; one sister, Mrs. Effie Warren of Memphis; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services were conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 1981 at Franklin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Earl Parker and Herbert Robinson officiated. Interment followed in Garrison Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
