Mary Hansen Aagard, 92, died February 2, 2006. Mary was born January 31, 1914 in Moroni, UT. She was one of twelve children born to Oscar Mosiah Hansen and Mary Effie Draper. The children were Oscar Mozel, Arthur Lucian, Effie Fay, Boyd, Kenneth Draper, Vance James, Beulah May, Delia, Mary, Neal D., Myles D., and Theresa. Mary was educated in the Moroni schools. She married Andrew Burnell Aagard September 4, 1936 in Ephraim, UT. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti LDS Temple March 28, 1942. Her husband passed away in September 1998. She was very gifted in handwork: crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, sewing, and other crafts. Her home was filled with lovely decor and her family and friends were blessed by the fruits of her talents. She and her husband managed the Royal Inn next to BYU in Provo. They also worked in name extraction and family history. They served a mission in Nauvoo and Carthage Jail in 1973 and 1974. This was one of the highlights of her life. All of her children also served missions. She loved studying the scriptures and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her whole life. She loved her children and family very much and was always out-going and friendly to others. She is survived by her three children, James Andrew (Kathleen) Aagard, Hyrum, UT, Brooks Burnell (Elizabeth) Aagard, Orem, UT, and Mary Andrea (Grant) Holland, Layton, UT; 17 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Theresa Hansen Dickinson, Provo, UT. The family expresses a special thanks to the nurses and aides of IHC Hospice for their gentle and dedicated care. A funeral service will be held in the Fountain Green LDS Chapel, 151 South 200 West, Fountain Green, UT, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at 12:00 noon where friends may call Saturday from 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Fountain Green Cemetery.
