OBITUARY :
MRS. ELIZABETH G. (NULL) "MICKEY" SACHS, 95 a resident of Michaux Manor and formerly of 1822 Highland Terrace, Waynesboro, died at 6:20 P.M., Monday, May 28, 2012 in ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg. She had been in failing health for the past month.

Born October 31, 1916 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harold L. and Bessie M. (Rowe) Null. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.

Mrs. Sachs graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1934.

She and her husband, the late Austin P. Sachs, were married on February 1, 1936 in Hagerstown. They lived at 112 N. Franklin Street, Waynesboro from the marriage until they moved to their moved to the Highland Terrace address in 1940. They moved to Michaux Manor in February 2007. Mr. Sachs died on December 18, 2008.

Mrs. Sachs worked intermittently at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill office from 1934 until 1966. She later worked at in the Teledyne Landis Machine Company office from 1966 until her retirement on February 28, 1981. She also was part owner of Null Machine Shop, Inc.

She was a member of the Wayne Heights Brethren Church, Waynesboro, where she served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, president of the Women's Missionary Society, sang in the church choir, and served on various other boards and committees at the church. She also served many years as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.

Mrs. Sachs enjoyed painting, sewing, and various crafts.

She is survived by four children, Terry L. Sachs and his wife Barb of Ellicott City, MD, Judith A. Stevens of Waynesboro, Brian L. Sachs and his wife Donna of Gainsville, FL, and Patricia D. Gilkerson and her husband Don of Gettysburg, PA; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruthanna McFerren of Waynesboro; one brother, Thurlow R. Null of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances B. Welty, A. Beatrice Rowe, Yula Shank, and Velva M. Bowers; and one brother, H. Richard Null.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Dr. Harold W. Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Sunday afternoon, in the funeral home.
