John E. Womack was born 1807, and died in 1876. He was a millwright or carpenter in Batesville, Independence Co., AR, and was known for building the Batesville Institute and the Independence County courthouse. Unfortunately, both buildings later burned. He married Nancy Louisa Stone on July 8, 1830, in Eatonton, GA. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Batesville.
