Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Bruce McKenney, with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
Dorothy was born July 11, 1904, in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Fred and Emma Adam Burhop. She was a 1922 graduate of Sheboygan High School. On Nov. 19, 1927, she married Hubert R. Aggen in Sheboygan. The couple resided in Sheboygan until 1930 when they moved to Manitowoc, where they founded the Aggen Paint and Sign Company, which they owned and operated until their retirement in 1969. They were charter members of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Dorothy was also a charter member of the church’s Ladies Aid. The couple had been married for 64 years when Hubert preceded her in death on March 9, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Carol and William Bell, Omaha, Neb.; Marilyn and Clifford Kraft, West Chester, Pa.;six grandchildren: Robin Staroska and her husband, Ken; Cindy Fuchs and her husband Daryl; Nicholas Bell and his wife Barbara; Brian Bell; Carolyn Kraft; Andrew Kraft and his wife Janice. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by a grandson Jeffrey Kraft; a brother Edgar Burhop and two sisters, Viola Freimund and Sylvia Edler.
The family will greet family and friends at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, Tuesday evening from 5 pm. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday morning at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church.
