Jim Oltman of South Holland, Illinois, died at 6 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 1991 at his home. He was born May 6, 1924 near Benson, Illinois, the son of John and Pearl Newlon Oltman.

Survivors include daughter Linda (Jim) Lavold of Wauwatosa WI; son Thomas Oltman of Chicago; wife Carolyn Roney Oltman of South Holland; three brothers: Granville of Crete IL, Ray of Minonk IL, and Bob of Miami FL; four sisters: Rachel Seggerman of Chenoa IL, Fanny Hupprich of Morton IL, Norma Newman of Peoria IL, and Patricia Dalziel of New Lenox IL. Also several grandchildren and two step-children, Edward Fleming and Sandra Albrecht.

A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8283 in Crete. He owned and operated a bowling alley in Nokomis as a young man and was a truck driver for Standard Oil Co. for many years.
