Louis Bender, 71, of R. 2, Sheboygan, a retired Town of Mosel dairy farmer, died Monday afternoon at Morningside Nursing Home, following a brief illness.
Mr. Bender was born in the Town of Herman on Oct. 15, 1895, the son of the late Fred and Odelia Bender. He attended district grade school and Sheboygan High School, and was confirmed at Zion Reformed Church.
On Sept. 1, 1917, he married the former Hilda Schreiber of Town of Mosel.
The couple lived at their present farm home since their marriage. Mr. Bender retired from farming in 1961.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Donald, Howard Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Janet Seifert, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Adrian (Joyce) Zill, Howards Grove; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Schneider, Town of Herman, and Mrs. Selma Goetschel, Sheboygan; and one brother, Oscar Bender, Sheboygan. One granddaughter died previously.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. Edmond Hennig, Pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, Town of Herman, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
