Catherine (Kathryn) Chermak, age 88, formerly of 732 N. 9th St.,
Manitowoc, died Wednesday, January 5, 1994, at the Shady Lane
Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 1994, at
the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. William Plank will officiate
with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born December 8, 1905, in Joliet, Ill., daughter of the late
Alexander and Agnes Cheville MacKenzie. She graduated with the first
graduating class from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. She married
Alvin R. Chermak, October 7, 1935, in Melnik, Wis. She was a active
member of the First Presbyterian Church where she had served as member
of the Board of Deacons, and Ruth Circle. She was also a former member
of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a former member of the Order of
Eastern Star and also the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, (private); eight
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, in
1968, one brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at the First Presbyterian Church from 9 a.m. Saturday
until the time of services. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
Memorials may be made to The First Presbyterian Church.
The Jens Funeral Home is assisting the family with the funeral
arrangements.
