DeLoris Cherney, age 69, of 3006 Coolidge Place, Manitowoc , died Thursday morning,
January 9, 1997, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
A Memorial Service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 1997, at Holy
Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. David
Zimmerman. Cremation will have taken place with burial of her cremains at Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born March 12, 1927, in Manitowoc, daughter of Genevieve Stanzel Stern and
the late George Stern. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School and on July 1,
1950, she married Stanley Cherney in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death December 17,
1981. Mrs. Cherney was an apparel buyer for The Mart Department Stores. She was a
past member of the Business and Professional Organization.
Survivors include her mother, Genevieve Stern, Manitowoc; two sons and a daughter-in-
law, Bruce Cherney, Manitowoc, David and Mary Cherney, Adelanto, Calif.; a sister and
brother-in-law, Patricia and Norman DeBauche, Manitowoc; four brothers and sisters-in-
law, Daniel and Helen Stern, El Paso, Texas, George and Betty Stern, York, Penn.,
Thomas and Sharon Stern, Manitowoc, James Stern, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, LaVern
Stern, Yorba Linda, Calif., Viola Cherney, Manitowoc; a brother-in-law and sister-in-
law, Ray and Olive Jackson, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Stern.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
