Mrs. Hugo Christel, 59, nee Eva Gintener, 132 South 8th street, died Monday
afternoon at the Holy Family hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Shimek and Schwartz
funeral home and at 10 a.m. at the St. Boniface church, the Rev. Alfred Pritzl
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The rosary will be recited
at 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Christel was born in Cato in 1887 and was married to Hugo Christel in 1907.
They lived in Quarry and Collins and moved to Manitowoc about a year ago.
Survivors are the husband, five daughters, Mrs. Bernice Andrastek and Mrs. Betty
Kempka of Manitowoc, Mrs. Lila Ninmer of St. Anne, Mrs. Evelyn Kautzer of St.
Nazianz and Mrs. Marjorie Rathert of Holtbille, Calif.; two sons, William of St.
Ann and Leo of Manitowoc; three brothers, George of Reedsville and Anton and
Joseph of Oshkosh; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Stauss of Oceanside, Calif.; and
six grandchildren.
Mrs. Christel was a member of the Christian Mothers society at Clarks Mills.
