Bertha J. Green, 88, a lifelong Manitowoc resident who resided at Family
Heritage, died Saturday morning, Dec. 20, at Holy Family Hospital,
Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John United Church of Christ,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Green, nee Bertha K. Christensen was born Sept. 13, 1892, at Manitowoc,
daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Hansen Christensen. She was a Manitowoc
resident all her life. She was married to William C. Green, Sept. 25, 1910,
at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1947.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Calvin and Barbara of
Florida, Robert Green of Oregon, Gordon and Betty Green and William and Mary
Green both of Manitowoc; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mrs. Bertha
Cerkas, Betty and Edward Carmody both of Newald, Wis., Marjorie and Harry
Tetzlaff of Cudahy, Wis., and Alice and Eugene Hilke of Manitowoc; 46 grand-
children, 30 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by three sons, Clarence, Harold and James.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday
and from 9 a.m. until 11a.m. Tuesday morning and from noon till the time of
service at the church.
