Mrs. Melvin A. (Hilda M.) Grotbeck, 72, of 2114 Emerson Street, Manitowoc, died Sunday evening, October 2.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Glenn H. Unke officiating, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Grotbeck was born Sept. 2, 1911 at Mishicot, daughter of the late Charles and Augusta Schloff Nickels. She resided and was educated at Mishicot. She married Melvin A. Grotbeck at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Jane Grotbeck of Milwaukee, Arnold and Marilyn Grotbeck of Sheboygan, and Eugene and Susan Grotbeck of Naperville, Illinois; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Clarence Glaser of Two Creeks and Sharon and Jim Langer of Norman, Wisconsin; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Florence Nickels, Harold and Mabel Nickels, and Arthur and Audrey Nickels, all of Manitowoc; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and John Wilke, Ruth and Emil Kuchenbecker, Minnie and Virgil Petska; all of Manitowoc, and Jeanette and Milton Berge of Greendale, Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley, and two brothers, Karl and Harlan. Memorials to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, would be appreciated.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the church from noon until the hour of service.
