Ernest Groth (sic), 79, of 1102 Green street, Manitowoc, died Thursday at Holy
Family hospital following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pfeffer funeral home,
Manitowoc, the Rev. John Walker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Groth was born in 1871 in Newtonburg and came to Manitowoc in 1900. He was
employed at the public utilities until his retirement, Jan. 1, 1950. In 1896 he
married Minnie Bruns. She died in 1929.
Survivors are two daughters, Miss Julia at home and Mrs. Herman Holdorff of
Manitowoc; son Ervin of Sturgeon Bay; sister, Mrs. Minnie Korthauer of route 3,
Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A daughter and a son
preceded their father in death.
Mr. Groth was a member of the Men’s Royal league and the Eagles. Friends may call
at the funeral home until time of services.
