DOROTHY HECKER (d. 1969)
Mrs. Emil F. Hecker, 73, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a seven-week illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm. Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Manitowoc,
the Rev. Robert Sawall officiating and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
The former Dorothea Pleuss was born Aug. 31, 1895, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids,
daughter of the late Ernst and Martha Lindemann Pleuss. She was married to Emil
Hecker at Manitowoc Feb. 22, 1916, and the couple located on the homestead farm
in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids. He died two years ago.
Survivors are four sons, Reuben and Lloyd of Manitowoc, Earl of Rt. 4, Manitowoc,
and Vernon of Rt. 1, Clover; two brothers, Carl and Junias of Manitowoc; eight
grandchildren and one great grandchild. Two brothers and a sister preceded her
in death.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, Ninth Street
entrance, after 3 p.m. Sunday until 11 a.m. Monday when the casket will be removed
to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of services.
