Emil F. Hecker, 75, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at home, following
a coronary attack.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Manitowoc,
the Rev. A. T. Degner officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Hecker was born Feb. 22, 1892, at Newton, son of the late Herman and Louisa
Maas Hecker. He married Dora Pleuss Feb. 22, 1916, at Manitowoc Rapids and the
couple resided on a farm on Rt. 4, Manitowoc. He retired in 1947. The couple
celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1966. He was a school board clerk in the Town
of Manitowoc Rapids for 18 years.
Survivors include his wife, four sons, Reuben and Lloyd of Manitowoc, Earl on the
home farm and Vernon of Clover; a brother, Herman of Manitowoc; four sisters, Mrs.
Bertha Free of Rt. 3, Manitowoc, Mrs. George Free and Mrs. Richard Heydrich of
Manitowoc and Mr. Arthur Behringer of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
State Street entrance, until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, when the casket will be moved
to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
