Albert C. Hein, 66, of 418 Chicago St., Manitowoc, who had been in
ill health the past year, died Monday morning at University Hospital,
Madison.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church
Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. Arthur W. Johnson will officiate and
burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery where military rites will be
accorded by Drews-Bleser Post No. 88, American Legion.
Mr. Hein was born on a farm near Chilton, Calumet County, Jan. 28,
1891, son of the late Nicholas and Maria Fran??? Hein, in 19?? he
married Stella (illegible) the couple lived at Milwaukee until 1922,
coming then to Manitowoc. Mr. Hein was employed for several years
by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., and from 1929 to his retirement
two years ago by the City of Manitowoc. He was a veteran of the
Mexican War and World War I.
Surviving him are his wife, two sons, Albert, Jr., of Milwaukee and
Leo J. of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Earl J. McDonnell and Mrs.
Ronald Rusboldt of Manitowoc; two brothers, Henry of Chilton and
Peter of Sheboygan, and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at Mittnecht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 2 p.m.
Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be moved to
the chapel where it will lie in state until the hour of service.

Albert Hein, who left here with Company H, but who was one of the
members to be left behind at Camp Merrit, because of an epidemic
and who later crossed with the casuals, arrived home yesterday from
his service overseas and has an honorable discharge. Hein suffered
an injury that made him a hospital patient.
