Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn Mae) Heinrichs, 62, of 1050 N. 40th St., Manitowoc, died
Tuesday morning, March 14, 1989 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral
services will be 10:30 am Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 am at Holy
Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Presiding at the Mass of Christian Burial
will be Rev. Jeff VandenHeuvel and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Heinrichs, nee Evelyn Mae Birkholz was born August 8, 1926 at Reedsville,
Wisconsin, daughter of the late William and Christina Steinfest Birkholz. She
attended Reedsville Schools and was a graduate of Lakeshore Technical College for
Nursing Assistants. She married Raymond J. Heinrichs June 19, 1943 at St. Mary
Catholic Church, Reedsville. The couple resided at Manitowoc after their marriage.
Mrs. Heinrichs was employed at Manitowoc Clinic as a Nursing Assistant and for
Doctor John T. Savage DDS, as a Dental Assistant. She also worked at Holy Family
Medical Center as a Nursing Assistant and also worked in the Pharmacy, retiring
from Holy Family Medical Center, February 13, 1989. Mrs. Heinrichs was a member
of Holy Innocents Church, Christian Women of the church and V.F.W. Post no. 659
Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond J.; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and
Judy Heinrichs of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mary Ellen Bratz of Milwaukee; three
brothers and two sisters-in-law, Vernon Metcalfe of Butler, Wisconsin, Howard and
Dorothy Birkholz of Collins and Daniel and Milly Birkholz of Manitowoc; a sister,
Marie Welnicke of Las Vegas; five grandchildren, Tammy Heinrichs of Lacrosse, Julie
Heinrichs of Manitowoc, Christine, Kerry and Kurt Bratz of Manitowoc; and a great
grandson, Justin Bratz of Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by two sisters,
Dorothy Fleming and Christina Gubins; a brother, Jerry and a granddaughter, Mary
Ellen Bratz.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 pm to 8 pm Thursday, where
a prayer service will be at 8 pm by Deacon Paul Kieffer.
