JOSEPH B. HERMANN (d. 1957)

Joseph B. Hermann (photo) died unexpectedly early Sunday morning at his home,
1811? Dewey St., Manitowoc. He was 79.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
with the Rev. D. T. Stannard officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Hermann was born at Manitowoc, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Hermann,
July 17, 1877. He attended city schools and as a young man learned the carpenter
trade, working with his father and an uncle who were carpenter contractors. In
1922 he was employed by the Emmon Construction Co. of Fond du Lac, and in 1935
to his retirement in 1945, he was employed by Burger Boat Co. and local
contractors. He married Emma Heise Jan. 28, 1896.
Surviving him are his wife, a son Victor E. of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. John
Fraser and Mrs. Henry Wagner of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. George Halvorsen of
Manitowoc and Mrs. Arthur Paul and Mrs. Irvin Degenhart of Chicago; 10 grandchildren
and 15 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of service.
