JOHN T. KADOW (d. 1954)
John Kadow, Jr., Dies At Home
MANITOWOC—John Kadow, Jr., 49, who retired last year as commercial
manager of Radio Station WOMT, formerly associated in business with
his father, John M. Kadow, died unexpectedly at his home early
Wednesday morning.
He suffered a heart attack in his sleep.
Funeral plans are tentatively set for Saturday and will be announced
Thursday by the Mittnacht Funeral Home.
He was born in Manitowoc in 1905, son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Kadow,
attended St. Boniface parochial school, and was graduated from Lincoln
High School. He then enrolled in St. Thomas Military Academy at St.
Paul.
Returning to the city, he joined his father in the Kadow Market and
the real estate business. Later, he became associated with his brother,
Francis M., as commercial manager of the radio station until his
retirement in 1953.
He was a member of the Elks Club and active in recent years in observance
of National Brotherhood Week in Manitowoc.
In 1924, he married Miss Octavia Lesmonde. She survives with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. John M. Kadow; brother Francis M. of Manitowoc; three sisters,
Miss Leonora Kadow, Mrs. John Pekarske of Manitowoc and Mrs. Edith
Mackert of Sarasota, Fla.
A brother Thomas died in 1941.
