Mrs. Kadow, 79, Dies following Brief Illness
Mrs. John M. Kadow, 79, of 1111 Huron St., for years engaged in business activities
with her husband, died Friday evening at Holy Family Hospital. She had been ill a
day.
Mrs. Kadow was secretary of Kadow’s Realty Co. and the Great Lakes Development Inc.,
both enterprises which her husband headed and had assisted in real estate developments
as well as participating in building projects he had initiated.
Mrs. Kadow, the former Mary Catherine Mangin, was born at Maple Grove Aug. 10, 1879.
Her parents were the late Thomas and Nora Mullins Mangin, pioneer residents of
Manitowoc County.
Mrs. Kadow attended and was graduated from the old Northside High School and was
married Thanksgiving Day, Nov 24, 1898, at St. Boniface Catholic Church here. The
couple annually observed the anniversary of the wedding on Thanksgiving Day, and had
marked its 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 27.
The couple always resided in the city.
She was an honorary member of St. Ann Christian Mothers Society of St. Boniface Church
and was a member of Wisconsin State Historical Society, the Auxiliaries of the Elks
Lodge and the Optimist Club.
Surviving are her husband, a son, Francis, and three daughters, Miss Leonora Kadow,
Mrs. John J. Pekarske andMrs. E. A. Mackert, of the city and seven grandchildren and
11 great grandchildren. Two sons, John and Thomas, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Mittnacht Funeral Home and at 10 a.m.
at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred A. Pritzl will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday where the Rosary will be
recited at 7 p.m. by members of St. Ann Christian Mothers Society.
