Frank A. Kreil, 88, formerly of 1318 Green Street, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Friday morning, February 8, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Drews Bleser Post Mo. 88.
Mr. Kreil was born August 1, 1896, at Merrill, Wisconsin, son of the late Fred and Pauline Wellner Kreil. He grew up and was educated at Merrill. He married Esther E. Folletz on June 22, 1918, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on November 3, 1961. Mr. Kreil was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company from 1941-1953. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Kreil was a veteran of World War I, serving in the United States Army as a Medic and member of the American Legion Drews Bleser Post No. 88. He was a life member of the Shoto Conservation Club. Frank enjoyed fishing and more recently playing Sheepshead with his friends.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward A. and Bernice I. Kreil and Harold T. and Grace N. Kreil of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, June M. and Earl Stock of Albany, California; 5 grandsons, Jerry, Jan, James, Kenneth and Jeffrey; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Radtke of Milwaukee; a step-brother, four stepsisters, eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Esther.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and at the church on Tuesday from noon to the hour of service.
