Thelma D. Lensmire, age 87, of 1843 Fairmont St., Manitowoc, died Monday, May 6,
1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 1996, at Holy Innocents
Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Thelma was born on February 11, 1909, in Manitowoc County. She is the daughter of
the late John and Clara Kortens Bauer. On June 21, 1939, she married Quirin C.
Lensmire at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Thelma attended Manitowoc
County Schools. Before her marriage, she worked at Schuette's Department Store.
Thelma was a wonderful homemaker who devoted her time to caring for her husband
and children. For many years, she was an active member of Holy Innocents parish
and the Christian Women's Society.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Douglas Fencl, Two Rivers;
one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Ann Lensmire, Manitowoc; two grandchildren,
Lori and Carrie Fencl; two sisters-in-law, Emily Lensmire, Luxemburg, Pauline
Lensmire, Plymouth; one brother-in-law, Daniel Lensmire, Taus. Also surviving are
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her
husband in November 1995, three sisters and one brother.
Thelma love traveling, cooking, and attending church functions. She enjoyed spending
time with her grandchildren, family, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at Holy Innocents Catholic Church from 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 8,
1996, until the time of the funeral mass at 6 p.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
