Mrs. John C. (Elizabeth) Schroeder, 92, of Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, died
Tuesday morning at the home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Phipps Memorial Chapel of
First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase J. Zanotti will
officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Schroeder, nee Elizabeth Handl, was born Dec. 1, 1883, at Manitowoc,
daughter of the late Andrew and Dora Sundt Handl. She was a Manitowoc resident
all her life and was married to John C. Schroeder March 6, 1905, at Manitowoc.
He preceded her in death in December of 1971. She was a member of First
Presbyterian Church, Missionary Society of the church, Royal Neighbors and
the North Western Railroad Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Paul, of Louis Corners, and John M. and Robert G.
of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Dorothy) Smith of Rt. 5, Manitowoc
and Mrs. Paul (Marcella) Sammon, of Manitowoc; 12 grandchildren, 30 great
grandchildren and two great great granddaughters. A son and 12 brothers and
sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Phipps Memorial Chapel after 11 a.m. Thursday until the
time of service. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or charity
of the donor’s choice. Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge
of funeral arrangements.
