HUGO L. SCHROEDER (d. 1952)

Hugo L. Schroeder, 74, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, died suddenly at his
home on Rt. 3, Monday as the result of a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in the
Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Schroeder was born in Manitowoc in 1877. In 1906 he married the former
Augusta Gaedtke, also of Manitowoc. They lived in the city until four years
ago, when they moved to Rt. 3.
Mr. Schroeder, until his retirement four years ago, was employed as a carpenter
at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company.
Surviving are Mrs. Schroeder; a daughter, Mrs. George Rosinsky, Rt. 3; three
sons, Harlan, Ernest and Paul all of Manitowoc; a brother, Emil, also of
Manitowoc, and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home from noon Wednesday
until 2 p.m. Thursday.

(The following obituary is for his son, Ernest Schroeder)
Ernest C. (Ernie) Schroeder, 66 of 1700 Manila St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday
morning at his residence. Private family funeral services will be 1:30 pm
Friday in Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Schmitz will
officiate and cremation will follow.
Mr. Schroeder was born Jan. 18, 1912 in Manitowoc, son of the late Hugo and
Augusta Gaedke Schroeder. He was graduated from Lincoln High School with the
Class of 1929. Aug. 18, 1938 he married Clara C. Stansky in Manitowoc. Mr.
Schroeder retired in 1976 after 46 years of employment with Manitowoc Public
Utilities and was a member of the Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Clara; a son, Roger of Burlingame, Calif.; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Donald Schwoerer of Manitowoc and Susan
and Ronald Meyer of Kiel; two brothers, Harlan and Paul and a sister, Mrs.
Grace Rosinsky of Manitowoc and six grandchildren.
Friends may call in Pfeffer Funeral Home 5 pm to 8 pm Thursday. The casket
will remain closed. A memorial has been established in Mr. Schroeder's name.
