Mrs. Howard Jones died Thursday, October 21, in Collingsworth General Hospital, following a long illness.

Mrs. Jones was the former Inez Coleman, daughter of Mrs. S.S. Coleman, now of Clarendon, and the late Mr. Coleman. She was born at Parnell, in Hall County, January 12, 1917 and grew up there.

She came with other members of the family to the Coleman Ranch west of Wellington. She and a sister also owned and operated a restaurant in Wellington.

She and Mr. Jones were married June 24, 1950, in Clovis, NM. They had lived all of their married life here except for a year in Wheeler County.

Mrs. Jones was a member of First Baptist Church and while her daughter was growing up she participated in activities relating to the school, including Girl Scouts, the Parent-Teacher Organization, and all activities relating to the band and Band Parents Club, including directing the concession stand two years. She was a graduate of Wayland College, Plainview.

Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Miss Judy Kay Jones of Austin; her mother, Mrs. Coleman, and two sisters, Opal Coleman Tracy and Mrs. Harvey (Norma) Jones, all of Clarendon.
