Ruth A. Kuchenbecker, age 99, of 1320 North 9th Street, Manitowoc, Wisconsin entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Ruth was born March 13, 1914 in the town of Mishicot, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Augusta Sehlhoff Nickels. Ruth and her husband Emil owned and operated the Kuchenbecker Grocery Store on Chicago Street until 1954. In later years Ruth became employed at the Book and Gift Shop on South 8th Street. On August 6, 1935 she married Emil Kuchenbecker at the Melnik Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2003. Ruth was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one daughter: Jane Kuchenbecker, Manitowoc, WI; two sons and daughters-in-law: John and Peg Kuchenbecker, North Prairie, WI; Gary and Marina Kuchenbecker, Tigerton, WI; five grandchildren: Matthew, Sandra, Robert, David, and James; six great grandchildren, one sister: Jeanette Berge, Greendale, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Augusta Nickels; husband: Emil; five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Schossow officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the funeral services there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and we thank God for giving her a long and productive life.
