Helen R. Heiser, of McSherrystown, entered into God's eternal care August 27, 2012. She was the wife of Ellwood D. Heiser, who died May 3, 2005.
Born September 10, 1927, in McSherrystown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Wilt) Slagle.
Helen was retired from Sylvania Shoe Co. in McSherrystown.
She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown and a 1945 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are five children, Ronald Heiser of McSherrystown, William Heiser and wife, Pam of Spring Grove, Nancy Gouker and husband, Robert Jr. of Hanover, Debra Long and husband, Robert of Glenville, and Stephen Heiser of McSherrystown; nine grandchildren, Andrew Heiser, Jennifer Baker, Jonathan Heiser, Kristine Denney, Jessica Pillera, Catherine Vaughan, Maria Heiser, Michael Gouker, and Elizabeth Ballesteros; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Laura Heiser and five siblings: Earl and Raymond Slagle, Sr. Adela Slagle S.S.J., Geraldine Wildasin, and Ethel Feeser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., August 31, 2012, at Annunciation Church in McSherrystown, with the Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel officiating. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery in McSherrystown.
