Barry E. Long, 52, of Menominee, Michigan, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2001 at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born on June 14, 1949 in Menominee, MI to Merlin and Marcella (Belaire) Long.

Barry graduated from Marinette Senior High School in 1968.
He had served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam war and had served in the Marinette National Guard Unit for many years. He had worked at Marinette Marine Corp. for 25 years. He was a member of the Union #696 and had been avidly researching his genealogy.

Barry is survived by his fiance' Sandy Patz of Menominee, MI;
her brothers Don of Neenah, Wisconsin and David of WestMinister, Colorado;
best friend, Shelby Keill of Marinette;
two sons James of Madison, Wisconsin and David of Milwaukee, Wisconsin;
two daughters Kimberly Long and Sue Ann (Mick) Berg both of Green Bay, Wisconsin;
his father, Merlin Long of Marinette, WI;
sisters, Rose Ann (Frank) Sutterfield of Custer, South Dakota; Diane Long of Marinette, WI; Lois (Gary) Walters of Marinette, WI; Nancy Long and Rebecca Long, both of Green Bay, WI;
and one grandchild Jada.

His mother, Marcella Long preceded him in death in March 2001.

Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette, on Saturday, December 8, 2001 from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 12 noon with Deacon Mark Gribowski officiating.
