He was the son of David and Ida McKinney Hanold and was born in Spurgeon, Indiana on December 29, 1893. In 1918 he was married to Carrie Harrison and three children were born to this union. Later, in 1940, he was married to Ernestine Eubanks.
He was a member of Seals Chapel General Baptist Church, a veteran of WW1 and a member of Carmi American Legion Post 224. He had farmed during his entrire life and had resided in the community in which he died for twenty years, moving there from the Enfield vicinity.
Surviving are his wife, Ernestine, a son, George, of Route 3, Carmi, a daughter, Mrs. Cyrus (Sylvia) Addison of West Palm Beach, Florida; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lowel Pool of Pasadena, Texas and Mrs Jack Wrey of San Diego, California; two brothers, Minuard of Danville, Illinois and Raymond of Portland, Oregon; a sister, Mrs. George Stehpan of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; two half-sisters, Mrs Oleva Brothers of Indiana and Mrs. Ida Anderson of Clearwater, Nebraska; 1 grand child and 5 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at the Seals Chapel Church with the Rev. Darnell Casey and Rev. C. S. Weasel officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Ferry cemetery with graveside rites by the American Legion Post 224 of Carmi.
The body will lie in state at the Kittinger Funeral Home until one hour prior to the funeral when it will be taken to the church to lie in state.
