The deceased was born in Austria and at the age of four was brought to this country by her parents who settled at Clarks Mills. About sixty years ago she was married to the late John Anhalt and the young couple settled on a farm near Millhome where she resided until 1918 and where Mr. Anhalt died eighteen years ago. Ten years ago Mrs. Anhalt came to this village where she presided over the home of her son, Joseph, until her health gave way about two years ago and her daughter, Mrs. John Riesterer took her into her home. Mrs. Anhalt was the mother of twelve children, eight daughters and four sons all of whom survive to mourn her loss.
Her daughters are; Mesdames John Riesterer, Isidore Meyer, Ed. Schad and Alex Gerhard of this vicinity; John Geise of Glenbeulah; Fred Altenberger, Sheboygan; Charles Malach, Osman; John Bermke of Franklin.
Two of her sons, Joseph and Peter reside in and near this village, a third, Frank, lives at Millhome and the fourth, John is at Plymouth.
And in addition to these twelve members of her own family, she is survived by about fifty grand-children and eleven great grandchildren.
The funeral services were held at St. Gregory's church in this village this morning, Friday, at 10 o'clock, the pastor Rev. Fintan Holzknecht, S.D.S. celebrating a requiem mass and burial was in the parish cemetery.
Six grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers.
Mrs. Anhalt had a wide circle of friends who esteemed her very highly and by whom she was known as a good Catholic, a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a member of the Christian Mothers' Society and of the Third Order of St. Francis. The members of the former organization paid their last respects to her by attending the funeral services in a body.
