Joseph Anhalt Dies at St. Nazianz Saturday
Joseph Anhalt, 72, a resident of St. Nazianz for 36 years was found dead in his bed Saturday. He had been in good health until Thursday of last week, when he collapsed near his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Gregory's Catholic church, St. Nazianz with the Rev. Terrence Schmidt officiating.
Mr. Anhalt was born September 8, 1883 at Millhome, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Borbara(sic) Knier Anhalt.
He married Mrs. Fannie O'Neil of Green Bay November 13, 1943. He was a member of the Holy Name society of the church.
Surviving him are his wife; a stepson; three sisters, Mrs. Alex Gerhard of St. Nazianz, Mrs. Carl Mahloch of Manitowoc and Mrs. Lena Altenberger of Sheboygan; and six step-grandchildren. Four brothers and five sisters have preceded him in death.
