JACOB STEIN DEAD

FREYSVILLE, Sept. 2.—Jacob Stein, one of if not the oldest resident in this section, died today after being bedfast for two weeks. Old age and gangrene was the trouble. He was aged 89 years, 7 months and 25 days and is survived by a large progeny. His wife died eight years ago. Those who survive are J. A. Stein, Mrs. J. F. Sechrist, Mrs. John Peeling and Mary Sechrist, of Freysville; Mrs. John Dietz, Hallam; Mrs. John Kauffman, and Mrs. Frank Wolf, York, and Andrew Stein, children, and Oliver Shenberger, Dallastown, a step-son. Philip Stein, a brother, of Freysville; Mrs. Catharine Miller, and Mrs. George N. Stein, York, and Miss Mary Stein, at home, sisters, and fifteen grand and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from the home at 10 o'clock Saturday morning with Interment at Freysville cemetery.
