Gottfried Schuler, 83, St. Nazianz, died early Sunday morning at his home following a lingering illness. Born in the town of Eaton, he lived there most of his life. He was a farmer.
For the past nine years he lived in St. Nazianz. He is survived by his wife, Agnes; five daughters Mrs. Theodore Kautzer, and Mrs. Joseph Backhaus, both of St. Nazianz; Mrs. Alfred Brunmeier, Newton; Mrs. Norbert Schneider, Cleveland; and Mrs. Steve Zych, Manitowoc; three sons, Herbert of Kiel; and Edmund and Arnold, both of Valders; one brother, Joseph of Kiel; three sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Heinzen, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Rose Heinzen, and Mrs. Frank Palacek, both of Marshfield; 25 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
His parents, one brother, and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at St. Gregory's Church, St. Nazianz at 10 a. m. Wednesday by the Rev. Frederick Dorn. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
