Charles C Russell, 69, resident of Rocky Grove, died at his home, 719 McCalmont Street, at 5 o'clock Tuesday evening after an illness of several months. He was born and reared in Cherrytree Township.
He learned the blacksmith's trade from his father and followed that trade in Cherrytree Township during his early life. During the World War, he was sent by the government to Camden, NJ, where he was employed in the shipyards. He resided in Camden ten years, bit with the exception of this period, resided all his life in Cherrytree Township and Rocky Grove. He conducted a grocery store at 719 McCalmont Street, was a member of Rocky Grove Presbyterian Church, and was admired and respected by a host of friends.
Surviving are his widow who, before her marriages, was Miss Ella N. Perrine; a daughter, Mrs. Velma Painter of Quakerstown, PA; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Seely of Toledo, OH, and Mrs. Grace Kirkwood of Drumright, OK; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Rocky Grove Presbyterian Church by Rev. M. W. Castrodale, pastor of that church. Interment in the Center Cemetery near Raymilton will follow the services.
