Hagerstown, Maryland, Morning Herald, Thursday, May 24, 1973:
Miss Mary Ella Mumma, 68, of 908 Hamilton Blvd., died at her home Tuesday evening.
Born in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Susan Isabell Wolf Mumma.
She was a fifty-year member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Washington Chapter of the American Red Cross. She was a retired employee of Eyerly's Department Store.
She is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Gussie Shifler of Boonsboro, Mrs. Mildred I. Beachley, and Mrs. Emma C. Emmert and Miss Catherine I. Mumma all of Hagerstown, and Mrs. Lucile M. Hoover of Funkstown; and one brother, C. Albert Mumma of Sharpsburg.
Services will be held at the Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro Friday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Wilson A. Shearer will officiate.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial donations may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church.
