Evelyn Ida Kanter, age 90, of Shady Lane Nursing Home in Manitowoc, formerly of Brillion, died on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Shady Lane.
She was born on July 26, 1917, in the Town of Rockland, daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Damm) Behnke. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Collins. On Nov. 24, 1936, she married Wilmer Kanter at St. Peters in Collins. She lived most of her married life in Brillion and was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion. She resided at Garrow Villa in Brillion for four years and the past eight years at Shady Lane.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer, on Sept. 15, 1977, and by nine sisters and five brothers.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. The Rev. Ross Henzi and the Rev. David Rockhoff will officiate. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements.
