Francis V. Pemberton, 88, of Fleming, died May 15, 2013, in Brush. Francis was born April 22, 1925, in Kingfisher, Okla., to Elmer Harold and Ica Amy (Sinclair) Pemberton. He attended school in Faye, Okla.

Francis worked on the Gaylord Goddard farm from 1974 until his retirement.

On Feb. 15, 1963, he married Arlean Langdon in Sterling. They lived in the Dailey area and Holyoke before moving to Fleming in 1988.

He most recently attended Haxtun Berean Bible Church, and Fleming Assembly of God prior to that.

Francis is survived by his wife, Arlean Pemberton of Fleming; daughters, Michelle Pemberton of Fleming and Edith Pemberton of Sterling; son, Marvin Pemberton and wife Suelyn of Paonia; brother, Harold Pemberton and wife Joy of Hurst, Texas; sisters, Thelma Hightower of Oklahoma City, Okla., Nellie Pennington and husband Bill of Choctaw, Okla., Nancy Tripp of Ringling, Okla., and Naomi Newberry of Oakley, Calif.; and grandchildren, Rachel, Timothy and Sarah of Paonia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ica Pemberton; sisters, Chrettie Pemberton, Mabel Hicks and Emily Cook; and grandchildren, Rebekah Grace, Isaac Nathaniel and Stephen Samuel Pemberton.

Funeral services were held May 20 at Berean Bible Church in Haxtun with the Rev. Mark Phillips officiating. Interment was at Haxtun Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or Caring Hands of Logan County.
