Violet B. Cook Stitt Clepper, 94, Mountain View Nursing Home, Greensburg, formerly of Apollo, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1992, in the nursing home.
Born May 24, 1897, in Vandergrift, she lived in Apollo before moving to Greensburg. She lived in the Kiski Valley most of her life.
She was a member of Free Gospel Mission of Vandergrift.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Herb (Isabelle) Schroeder, Flippin, Ark., Mrs. Phil (Helen) Stitt, Winston-Salem, N.C., Mrs. Clyde (Reatha) Young, Latrobe and Mrs. Thomas (Aleen) Pearson, Hershey; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; three stepsons, Ralph Clepper, Sarasota, Fla., Harold Clepper, Cypress, Calif., Leland Clepper, Apollo; two stepdaughters, Helen Gibbon, Apollo and Millicent Long, Branson, Mo.; 16 step grandchildren; 38 step great grandchildren; and five step great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Clepper was preceded in death by her first husband, Ward W. Stitt in 1974; her second husband, Howard H. Clepper in 1986; a stepson, Woodward Clepper; and her parents, James and Mary Blystone Cook.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until funeral services are held at 11 a.m. in the Shaffer & Rae Funeral Home, 310 S. Second St., Apollo. Officiating will be the Rev. Lloyd Bier.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Kiski Twp.
