Paul L. Whipkey, 81, of Wind Ridge R.D. 1, died at 6:16 p.m. Monday, October 26, 1987, in the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W. Va.
He was born September 20, 1907 in Higbee (Aleppo Township), a son of Samuel and Frances A. Kerr Whipkey.
He was a lifelong resident of Greene County and a member of the Long Run Church of God. At the time of his death, he served as a deacon, church trustee and parsonage trustee. He was a former church elder.
He was a charter member of the Richhill Township Volunteer Fire Co. and employed by the Carnegie Gas Co. as a roustabout, retiring in 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Naomi McClellan Whipkey, whom he married May 13, 1925; a daughter, a sister, three brothers and two grandchildren,
Deceased are three sisters, Lena Anderson, Dorothy Wipkey and Louise Whipkey; and a brother, Warren Whipkey.
