Top, middle and bottom photos taken circa 1910 when Dortha was 18 years old.

In 1900 Dortha (age 8) lived with parents Joseph (age 34), Emily (age 29); siblings Allen R. (age 10), Alta P. (age 6) and Lily (age 4) in Dirigo, Grant County, Oklahoma.

Dortha married E. B. "Pete" Petersen. They had no children. They possibly married circa 1910. A photo taken about that time shows she could be wearing a wedding dress. Dortha was not part of the family household in the 1910 census.

In 1913 at the age of 21, Dortha worked at Harding Creamery in Jobber's Canyon, 8th & Harney, Omaha, Nebraska with her sisters Alta and Lily and her brother Allen.

In 1930 Pete (age 35) and Dortha (age 37) lived in Evanston, Uinta, Wyoming. Pete's occupation was Signal Foreman on Steam Railroad.

The 1940 census shows Emmanuel (age 46) and Dortha (age 48) living at 4319 No. 42nd Street, Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska. Emmanuel's occupation was Relay repair for Steam Railroad.

In 1958 and/or 1962 Pete and Dortha lived in Glendale, Los Angeles, California.

Dortha died May 28, 1971. A Christmas card from Uncle Pete to his great-niece Sandra postmarked December 8, 1971 with a return address of 4960 Military, Apartment 2 in Omaha expressed his loneliness without Dortha. Before Dortha's death she became very sick. Her nephew Al Morford who was in real estate set her and Pete up in the apartment on Military. Between Al and his daughter Betty they took care of Dortha making sure she had food, medicine and anything else needed.

Dortha was buried on June 1, 1971 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.
