HANNIBAL - Rachel Fay Ard, 59, of Palmyra and formerly of Hannibal, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Grand View Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Richard Epperson will officiate. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, in the Grand View Funeral Home.
She was born Dec. 1, 1945, in New London to Homer and Catherine Kobush Zumwalt.
She was married to Larry E. Ard on Aug. 7, 1965, and he survives.
Other survivors include her stepmother, Elaine Zumwalt; two sons, Larry Dale Ard and wife, Rhonda, of Hannibal, and Rodney Ard of Bowling Green; one daughter, Kimberly Williams and husband, Brandon, of Palmyra; seven brothers, Stoney Zumwalt and wife, Phyllis, of New London, Wayne Zumwalt and wife, Rhonda, of Perry, Ray Zumwalt and wife, Darlene, Homer Zumwalt Jr. and wife, Penny, Roger Zumwalt and wife, Penny, Daniel Zumwalt and wife, Lisa, and Matthew Zumwalt, all of Hannibal; six sisters, Sharon Randolph and husband, Charles, Janice Gordon and husband, Ronnie, of Hannibal, Amy Davis and husband, Dennis, Joan Floyd of New London, Cathy Largent and husband, Gene, of Vandalia, and Vickie Hastings and husband, Gary, of Shelbina; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Stokes, Matthew Cashman, Emily Williams, Jessica Williams, Nate Ard, Rachel Smith and Kelsey Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Zumwalt; her mother Catherine Mosley; her stepfather, Hugh Mosley; and two sisters, Diana Orf and Lois Adams; and one brother, Leroy Zumwalt.
Mrs. Ard was a member of the Salt River Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be Joe Largent, John Largent, Alfred Billings Jr., Darin Billings, Brian Chaplin, Tom Fitzsimons, Ray Zumwalt Jr., Timothy Zumwalt, Steve Shaefer and Aaron Davis.
