Katherine was the daughter of Henry and Alvina Karnath Fricke. She, her sister, Marie and their parents came from Wisconsin to Nebraska in a covered wagon, settling in Knox county, west of Winnetoon. Her other siblings were born in Nebraska, Emma, Bill, Vern, Henry Jr., Oliver and Elmer. The last two died young.
Kate married Oliver W. Rish. They had a daughter, Leota, who married a Koenigstein. They also had an infant son, born in 1895. He died August 10, 1895 from pneumonia. The family lived in Norfolk, Nebraska.
She divorced Rish, later marrying John Issacson. They moved to California, owning orange groves in the mountains.

She and her husband resided in Norfolk until about 12 years ago, when they moved to California.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Art Koenigstein of Ojai, Calif., two brothers, Bill and Vern Fricke of Winnetoon, two sisters, Miss Emma Fricke and Mrs. Marie Younger of Glendale, Calif.
Burial was in Forest Lawn cemetery at Los Angeles.
